Malfroy - Room 17 News

Room 17 Malfroy Primary School 2022

Room 17 is one of two satellite classes based at Malfroy Primary School.   There are currently 6 students in the class: three boys and three girls with an age range of 6 to 9 years old.   We currently have two teachers - Stacey and Sarah - and 3 wonderful Teacher Aides - Frankie, Michelle and Vera.

In the classroom our favourite activities include cooking (and eating our creations, of course), sensory play where we get to use all our senses to explore, music with our talented music tutor Phil and building masterpieces out of lego and duplo. Each child has their own individual goals and time is dedicated each day for working towards these goals.

Outside the classroom we enjoy going to the beautiful Redwoods to walk and explore. We love swimming and our weekly splash time at the Aquatic Centre is enjoyed by everyone.   Other places that we like to visit are the Tree Trust, Sulphur Point to feed the ducks and geese and local playgrounds.

We are very lucky to be supported by Mandana (speech language therapist), Cian (occupational therapist) and David (psychologist) to help us meet our individual learning goals.  In addition to these we have music sessions with Phil and Te Reo lessons with Aiden.
