Ruma Toru (Room 3)

Kia Ora KoutouMy name is Zac Markham and I am the Kaiako for room 3, at Rotorua Specialist School.  

I have three amazing Kaiawhina Kaiako in the classroom, Greg Rerehau, Kylie Morrell and Aaron Clair.  

The classroom programme includes each ākonga completing a number of different activities and tasks relating to the Key Competency (T.R.U.M. P) modules. Learning experiences are designed individually for each of the ākonga so they experience success with their learning experiences while attending our Kura.  Whanau are given opportunity to attend I.E.P (individual education plan) hui twice a year.  After each hui ākonga are supported to work towards individual goals throughout the class programme.  This includes activities in the morning circle, box time, physical education and art routines.  Throughout each week ākonga are given regular opportunities to explore the wider community in Rotorua. This includes swimming sessions, and visiting the Redwoods and local playgrounds.
