Selwyn - Room 6

Our class is Room 6 situated at Selwyn Primary School. 

The classroom programme consists of physical, practical and focussed learning. When the weather is fine, the staff and students take a brief walk around our local area; encouraging fitness and developing life skills in the community. Pupils engage in regular exercise through a P.E/Fitness programme as part of our school curriculum. 

Students also learn practical skills such as cooking, art and play. This supports them in understanding the science involved whilst also gaining mathematical knowledge and promoting oral language. We have swimming each week at the Rotorua Aquatic Center. Our class frequents the Rotorua Public Library and other local places. The students enjoy community integration as this gives them further opportunity to integrate with the general public.
