Selwyn - Room 23
Kia Ora Koutou Katoa
My name is Stacey Ward and I am the teacher of the newly formed satellite class at Selwyn School. Currently I have one full-time teacher aide, Jodi. We started the year with 2 students - James and Thorin - but have already grown to a class of 4 with the addition of Kea and Kaine. We are lucky to be hosted by the amazing Selwyn School while being close enough to Base School to use their facilities regularly.
This year we will be supported in class by Mandana (Speech Language Therapist), Pearl (Occupational Therapist), Karen (Physiotherapist), Michelle (Orientation and Mobility Specialist), Phil (Music Specialist) and Aiden (Te Reo Specialist).
In time each child will have their own Individual Education Plan (IEP) with supporting goals but at the moment we are focussing on establishing routines and getting to know the children. We love being able to get outside to play at school and at surrounding parks. We have been visiting the library to read books, experience the sensory room and choose toys from the toy library. We will also be going swimming later this term.
