Sunset - Room 8 News

Welcome to Room 8, Sunset!

We are a satellite class based at Sunset Primary School.  Our class consists of five boys and one girl and we range in age between 8 and 11 years old.  We have one teacher and three teacher aides to assist us with our learning.

This year we are focusing on getting out into our community more and exploring Rotorua.  We visit the Redwood forest and Tree Trust in Centennial Park for fitness and will go to other local sites each week to learn more about the place we live and our part in it. 

During the school day we have visits from specialists in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and orientation and mobility.  We also have weekly sessions for music and waiata.  We have individualised work boxes that we use to focus on our IEP goals.  We use these 1:1 with an adult most days to work through numeracy, literacy and other skills.
